Sinus Lift

Sinus Lift

A sinus lift is a procedure designed to increase the volume of bone in the upper jaw to better secure a dental implant. There are many reasons why you may require a sinus lift to augment your upper jaw bone prior to implants that include:

  • Periodontal Disease
  • Traumatic Injury
  • Wearing A Removable Dental Appliance

In this procedure Dr. Calat will gently raise the floor of the sinus to allow room for placement of a bone graft.

A sinus lift is a procedure that should be performed by an Oral Surgeon. Post operative care will include antibiotics and pain medication. Usually within 24 hours any sensitivity or swelling subsides and in about seven days the sutures dissolve on their own. With a sinus lift bone graft patients typically wait six months to determine the success rate, which is typically a very positive outcome. Patients seeking post-surgical information should visit out patient care page here.
