I take a lot of pride in the results that we deliver our patients. I take it personal. We’ve had patients refer to us from doctors that we’ve never worked with before, but somehow heard from a colleague that we do things a little bit different.
When I say we do things a little bit different, that shouldn’t scare you. It’s just that we’ve made some minor changes in our practice philosophy and the materials that we use. And more and more and more every day, every month, the materials that we use are natural.
They’re coming from the patient. I can recall, in particular, a patient that was referred to me that had multiple bridges. And a bridge is something that’s cemented on two adjacent teeth on someone’s missing teeth.
It’s been the gold standard for decades. This person was told for the last 25 years that they can never have implants. They weren’t just told that once by their dentist.
They were told that by multiple surgical specialists, multiple periodontists and oral surgeons, that this was not possible. We met this gentleman for a consultation. We immediately connected.
There was something about him that made him so likable and made me really want to just deliver. We looked at his 3D x-ray together. I gave him some basic information.
I showed him previous cases that we’ve done with similar results and a presentation that I gave to many dentists in the past. And he just seemed enlightened. He seemed that, he actually told me that no one has told him that success with dental implants and using your own bone is even a possibility.
